Question 1

What hardware is required?

Accepted Answer

Kimax Digital uses proprietary weight sensors and telematics devices installed directly on your vehicles and excavators. The hardware includes weight measurement sensors, a telematics gateway for cloud connectivity, and optional proximity sensors. Installation is non-invasive and typically completed in a few hours per vehicle.

Question 2

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

Most fleets are fully operational within 1-2 weeks. Hardware installation takes a few hours per vehicle. Cloud platform configuration, geo-zone setup, and user training are typically completed within the same period. We handle the entire setup process with your team.

Question 3

What is the minimum fleet size?

Accepted Answer

Kimax Digital works with fleets of any size, from 3 vehicles to 300+. Our platform scales seamlessly, and pricing is structured per vehicle so you only pay for what you use.

Question 4

Do you offer a demo or trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer a full product demo where our team walks you through the platform using real operational data. Contact us to schedule a personalized demo tailored to your industry and use case.

Question 5

Does it work with mixed fleets (different vehicle brands)?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Kimax Digital is brand-agnostic and works with any vehicle manufacturer: Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Scania, MAN, and more. Our hardware integrates with any truck, ADT, or excavator regardless of make or model.

Question 6

What connectivity does it need in remote areas?

Accepted Answer

Our telematics devices run on cellular (3G/4G/LTE) and buffer data on board: if a vehicle drops out of coverage in a pit or under forest canopy, readings are stored on the device and uploaded the moment connectivity returns, so no trips are lost.

Question 7

How accurate is the weight measurement?

Accepted Answer

Kimax weight sensors deliver accuracy within 1-2% of actual load weight. The system is calibrated during installation and can be remotely re-calibrated as needed. This level of precision is sufficient for operational optimization, overload prevention, and compliance reporting.

Question 8

Does Kimax track individual axle weights and other vehicle data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The platform records per-axle weights (steering, drive, and trailer axles) alongside gross vehicle weight on every trip, available in a filterable, Excel-exportable weight report. On vehicles with CAN bus/FMS connectivity the platform also reads a wide range of vehicle-bus signals, including fuel, engine, PTO, and axle-load data, plus BLE sensors such as temperature. Weight-sensor calibration is handled remotely, per axle, with a full audit history.

Question 9

Can Kimax use the GPS trackers we already have installed?

Accepted Answer

In many cases, yes. Kimax runs on industry-standard telematics hardware and integrates existing GPS trackers into the platform as part of onboarding, so you keep the install base and gain weight-first fleet intelligence on top. Tell us what's fitted to your vehicles and we'll confirm the integration path for your exact hardware.

Question 10

What can Kimax read from our vehicles' CAN bus?

Accepted Answer

On CAN bus/FMS-equipped vehicles, Kimax decodes 180+ vehicle-bus signals: per-axle loads and gross combination weight, fuel level and consumption, engine RPM, load, hours and temperatures, PTO engagement, brake and accelerator position, AdBlue status, warning lamps, and BLE sensor data such as temperature and humidity. It connects to the bus your vehicles already have, with no additional sensors required for this data.

Question 11

Can it integrate with our existing systems?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kimax Digital offers API connectivity for integration with your existing ERP, maintenance management, or dispatch systems. We also support data export in multiple formats (Excel, PDF, CSV) for offline analysis.

Question 12

How is our data secured?

Accepted Answer

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our cloud infrastructure is hosted on enterprise-grade servers with SOC 2-level security practices. Each tenant's data is fully isolated, and access is controlled through role-based permissions with full audit logging.

Question 13

What is the difference between Kimax Monitoring and Perigon?

Accepted Answer

Kimax Monitoring provides real-time weight tracking, overload alerts, and fleet position data. Perigon adds production cycle analytics on top of that, measuring load/unload times, calculating tons-per-hour, and surfacing bottlenecks. Most customers use both together for complete operational visibility.

Question 14

Can Kimax detect faulty sensors or offline vehicles?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Automated health checks run continuously on every vehicle's data and flag connectivity drops, weight sensors reading zero or frozen values, implausible readings, and GPS faults. The Vehicle Health dashboard shows a live fleet-wide view with 24-hour trends, and every problem opens a persistent issue card your maintenance team can resolve, schedule maintenance for, or snooze.

Question 15

What alerts and notifications does the platform send?

Accepted Answer

Overload alerts when a vehicle exceeds its limits, trip exception flags (route exits, unexpected offloads, overdue vehicles), and vehicle health issues (silent devices, faulty sensors, GPS faults). Everything surfaces in the in-app notification centre, and vehicle status events can also be delivered to your own systems as signed webhooks.

Question 16

Can I use only some of the products?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our platform is modular. You can start with Kimax Monitoring for basic weight tracking and add Perigon, Route Planning, or Geo Performance as your needs grow. Each product works independently but delivers the most value when used together.

Question 17

Does Route Planning work on private haul roads?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Routes are built on your own geozones and haul roads rather than public-road maps, which suits mining and forestry sites where the roads are yours. Dispatched trips are measured against the defined route, and route exits are flagged in real time.

Question 18

What reports are available?

Accepted Answer

The platform provides shift-filtered production reports, geo-zone tonnage and performance reports, a per-trip weight report with the full axle breakdown (Excel export), and a vehicle tracking report with map captures of each vehicle's track over your chosen period.

Question 19

How is pricing structured?

Accepted Answer

Pricing is per vehicle per month, based on the products and features you need. Hardware is typically a one-time investment. Contact us for a quote tailored to your fleet size and requirements.

Question 20

What support do you provide?

Accepted Answer

We provide full onboarding support including hardware installation, platform configuration, and user training. After launch, our support team is available for technical issues, remote calibration, and ongoing optimization guidance. We work as partners, not just vendors.

Question 21

Do you offer long-term contracts?

Accepted Answer

Starter and Professional plans are month-to-month, with no long-term commitment required. Annual billing comes with a 20% discount, and Enterprise agreements are negotiated to fit your operations.

Question 22

Which regions do you serve?

Accepted Answer

Kimax Digital serves customers globally. Our headquarters are in Brussels, Belgium, and we have active deployments across Europe, Africa, and beyond. On-device data buffering means we can support operations in even the most remote locations.
